Situated in the heart of Ireland, Kilbeggan is one of four National Hunt (jumps) racecourses. As popular a racing venue as there is in the country, Kilbeggan is very much a summer track and the valuable Midlands National Handicap Chase is a recognised trial for the Galway Plate and other major festival races.

The world’s largest annual celebration of Irish music, language, song and dance. Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2023 is set to return to Mullingar, taking place from the 6th to 14th of August 2023. Festival programming includes music and concerts in a variety of outdoor and indoor locations, with national and internationally renowned traditional music artists, Competitions with 200 + competitions in music, singing, dancing, comhrá Gaeilge & storytelling, Scoil Éigse – an international Summer School, Seachtain na Gaeilge – week-long immersive events in the Irish language.
The event is organised by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and will be hosted in Mullingar in conjunction with the local Fleadh Executive Committee and Westmeath County Council.
