Bloomfield House has a very colourful history having been originally used as a romantic dower house to celebrate the marriage of Dora Bloomfield to George Rochfort, 2nd Earl of Belvedere. (Full History)
In 1932 the Bloomfield property was donated to the Missionery Franciscan Nuns. The sisters accepted this gracious donation and set up a convent and school at Bloomfield, which they held until 1979.
A reunion is planned for the weekend of the 4th of September 2010 for past pupil and teachers. The evening will commence with a drinks reception at 7pm followed by Dinner at 8pm. The cost of the dinner and drinks reception is €35. A special 2 night weekend rate of €99 pps has being agreed.
